Creating Treemap Charts in Excel 2016

    Treemap Charts

A Treemap chart is a hierarchical chart. The treemap’s branches are represented by rectangles. The top categories within your data are represented by the larger rectangles, each with a different colour. The subcategories within the data are shown as smaller rectangles. This chart type is new in Excel 2016. Please see our Excel Dashboard training course if you would like this training delivered at your place of work.

So with our example, the larger rectangles are store locations and the smaller rectangles represent product types. The size of the rectangles represent their value – so this makes it really easy in our example to compare sales across stores and within stores across product types.
